Explore detailed movement with the use of props and hands-on assists with Celi and Rose this Spring. A full day workshop offering a deeper energetic experience of shoulder and hip focused asana, to invite a greater understanding of the poses; the physical body and its power to centre us towards connection to atman (soul or self).
We will approach the anatomy, structure and biomechanics of each joint in a fun and accessible manner before journeying through a variety of shapes. From standing asana and twists, to floorwork and backbends, we will navigate how to find more stability, comfort and ease using support such as straps, blocks, balls and blankets. We will also explore how we can safely and sensitively create pockets of spatial empowerment for another yogi using the power of touch, massage and muscle energy techniques (MET). Look forward to play, partner work, the opportunity to delve into the systems of the body (musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory and more), and give and receive constructive feedback from a variety of experiences.
Celi will hold two Hatha practices allowing you to implement everything that you have learned in both your own and others' movement, and also receive ‘feel-good’ adjustments from the teachers. Expect static postures, self-touch, mindful breathwork and a slower pace. This dynamic allows for a greater focus, challenging your strength and flexibility, while at the same time nurturing mindfulness.
A delicious and nutritious vegan lunch, energy snacks, tea and fruit water will be provided throughout the gathering.
